We are organizing "ASEAN day: Virtual tour to ASEAN museum workshop" from 1 pm to 5 pm on 23rd April, 2021. We aim to introduce ASEAN community as a supranational organization and show the educational, cultural, historical and political condition of ASEAN, and present its outsider's perspective. Furthermore, our workshop intends to enhance intercultural understanding of ASEAN countries.
ASEAN is a South-East Asian union with the aim of promoting economic, political, and security cooperation among its ten members: Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. The motto of ASEAN is "One vision, One identity, One community"
This workshop is open to everyone including students, professors from various universities, family, friends, a boyfriend, a girlfriend and all your relatives. Everyone who wants to take a look at "what ASEAN is and what it is for", is invited to attend this event.
In the workshop, you have an opportunity to explore ASEAN museum in four themes:
ASEAN historical overview, economy, political condition (Brief introduction about ASEAN, structure of ASEAN, the reason behind its formation, organizational structure and its function)
ASEAN education (Similarities and differences of education systems of ASEAN community and the educational collaboration among the ASEAN network)
ASEAN culture (ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community overview including cuisine, tourism places and heritage sites, traditional costumes and traditional music and performance)
Outsider’s perspective of ASEAN (cooperation between ASEAN and Asian countries, in four themes; education, culture, politics and economy)
You will be able to see interesting videos, experience fun activities, games through the intriguing themes mentioned above. Furthermore, you will also see a wonderful video interview of ASEAN students about their school experiences and university life. In addition, there will be an exhibition of food, traditional costumes, music, performance and souvenir of different ASEAN countries in the event.
